What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is sent from a website and stored locally on the visitor's hard drive while he is surfing on a website. When he surfs the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website. In this way, the website is aware of the visitor's previous activity.

Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember the status of the website or the activity a visitor has taken in the past. They help us to optimize your visit to the website, to remember technical choices (such as a language choice), and to show more relevant services and offers.

Cookies can include: clicking on certain buttons, logging into a website, or a record of the pages visited by the user, even months or years ago. Although cookies cannot contain viruses or install malware on the host computer, tracking cookies - and especially third party tracking cookies - are often used to compile long-term data from individuals' browsing history. (This caused significant privacy concerns among European and American legislators and led to action being taken in 2011). This cookie statement is in accordance with current Belgian law (Law of 10/07/2012 establishing provisions regarding electronic communications, BS 20/9/2012).

If you want to consult the website, MyComfort24 recommends that you enable cookies. If you do not want this, you are always free not to enable them.
